Hello Inbound Students and Counselors!
Our First Inbound Orientation will be held at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation (near Iconium, Missouri), on September 12-14, 2008. Registration deadline: August 31st. All students are required to attend!
Counselors: you are welcome (practically begged) to stay for the entire weekend or any portion of it. [Note: I really do need this help. A couple of people have volunteered to try to recruit some help, but at this date, I have no solid commitment to help for the first night. Female counselors are particularly needed!]
Arrival: 5:00 P.M. Friday, September 12, 2008
Departure: 12:00 Noon Sunday, September 14, 2008
The Youth Exchange Officer (YEO) or Counselor in your club will arrange transportation for students.
Directions: See attached map
What to Bring:
- Sleeping bag (or sheets & blanket) and pillow
- Towel(s)
- Soap
- Insect repellant
- Clothing: Shorts, Jeans, Tennis Shoes (be certain to bring tennis shoes and not just sandals), T-Shirts, etc. You will not need dress clothes of any type. (Clothes should be appropriate – no “short shorts or skirts”, for example. Questions? Just ask!)
- Snacks for late evening
- Musical instrument (optional). If you play an instrument and want to bring it that’s great. I know there are guitar players in our group, for example. We’ll also have a CD player, so you can also bring CDs or an MP3 player.
- Camera – Bring it (you’ll be glad you did).

A note for Counselors regarding payment: The cost for this event is included in the annual district activity fee paid by your hosting Rotary Club. Please check with your club’s treasurer to be sure that this has been paid for the 2008-09 Rotary year.
